Power Hall
Reopens After
Four Years
The Power Hall at the Science and Industry Museum has reopened as The Andrew Law Gallery following a four year restoration, and is now shortlisted in two categories at the Museums and Heritage Awards.
Our team stripped the roof of the Grade II listed former railway shed to carry out extensive repairs to the original timber trusses, then rebuilt it with new timber sub-frames and woodfibre insulation. Most of the original slates were reused. The work forms part of a decarbonisation programme cutting the museum emissions by 515 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
