May 2021 Works completed on Manchester Jewish Museum
Manchester Jewish Museum has now been completed and handed over. The photograph shows Max Dunbar (Chief Executive of the Museum), Andrew Singer (Chair of the Board of Trustees) and Rob Smith (Senior Director of HH Smith & Sons) as the keys were handed over.
The extensive restoration and extension of this grade II* listed building has partly been funded by a £3m grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and has enabled the museum (housed inside a former synagogue) to double in size, with a new gallery, learning studio, shop and cafe built in an extension alongside the existing historic building. The museum will open to the public on 2 July after a two year closure.
