February 2015 – New Leeds Pentecostal Church Rises From The Ground

In the grounds of the former Leeds High School, building works commenced on Leeds Pentecostal  Church in January 2015, the 2600m2 building will house a church with approximately 1000 seats and a community facility.

Due to the topography of the site a large basement has been created to form the ground floor of the church  which has required a 300m3 in-situ RC retainer wall with water proofing and gas retardant properties. Planning constraints require that all vehicular areas are required to be drained in such a way that the surface water does not dis-charge onto the highway, therefore a large underground attenuation tank and petrol inter-ceptor had to be incorporated into the scheme.
